Letter to BRCTC Families Fall 2020

July 27, 2020

Dear Bath Tech Students & Families,

Thank you for your continued patience as we work to develop a reopening plan for RSU 1 that
accommodates the diverse needs of our school. Various committees have met to discuss these
needs at the state, district, and school level with the goal of exploring options for resuming
school in the fall.

In the committees, the following priorities have guided our work:
● Ensuring the health and safety of our students and staff
● Providing hands on education for Career and Technical Education students
● Continuing to prepare students for the demands of careers and college

Final decisions have yet to be made, but we will be working with our sending high schools in the
coming weeks in an effort to create a plan that can work for students from Morse High School,
Boothbay Region High School, Wiscasset Middle High School, and Lincoln Academy. This is
likely to include a hybrid model blending in-person and remote learning.

We understand that this uncertainty is stressful for everyone, and we will do our best to continue with updates as we have conversations and make plans with our four sending high schools. In the mean time, we wish you all the best as you continue to enjoy your summer!
Sincerely,

Julie Kenny
